Get a clear view of your firm’s consultant financials, all in one place. The Consultant Overview Report helps you understand how much your firm has planned, billed, paid, and owes to each consultant, all without needing to dig through individual projects or spreadsheets.

With it, you can:

  • See total consultant costs across all projects

  • Drill down into project-level details for any consultant

  • Quickly identify who’s been paid, what’s still owed, and what’s been billed to clients

  • Export consultant financials for accounting or reporting

🚨 The Consultant Overview Report is available to Admins or users with "View Financial Reports" permissions.

How to Find the Consultant Overview Report

To access the Profit Report, navigate to Money in the menu bar on the left-hand side of the screen, then click Consultants.

From there, you’ll see a complete list of all consultant firms your company has engaged, along with their total amounts (planned, billed, paid, owed, and more).

How It Works

The report aggregates consultant data across all projects by consultant firm.

Each row represents one consultant company and includes:

  • Consultant Company

  • Total Planned

  • Consultant Fee

    • Click on the dollar amount to open the Bills page for that Consultant.

  • Markup

  • Consultant Billed

  • Paid

  • Owed

  • Billed to Client

  • Paid by Client

  • Due from Client

At the bottom, the totals row shows the totals for all consultants across the firm.

To note: Consultants with no active projects will still appear if they have historical data, and consultants with no invoices yet will show with $0 values until billed.

Drill Down for Project Details

To see which projects make up the totals, click the dropdown arrow next to any consultant’s name to expand and view all associated projects.

The sub-table shows each project’s individual financials, mirroring what you’d normally see on the project-level consultant table.

Sorting & Filtering

Quickly find what you need using the filters at the top of the page.

  • Project - search by the associated project

  • Consultants - search by the Consultant Company name

To sort, click on the header for any column to sort by that specific selection.

Summary Statistics

The numbers at the top of the page indicate important summary statistics based on the filters that are selected.

  • Total planned - the total planned amount that is entered in the Project Budget's Consultant Services for a project.

  • Total billed - the total amount billed to the client for the consultant's services.

  • Total paid - the total that has been paid to the consultant.

  • Total owed - the total amount still owed to the consultant.

Exporting

To export your consultant data for accounting or further analysis, click on Export in the upper-right corner. This will export a CSV containing all of the data, which can be opened in the program of your choice.

💡 Pro tip: Use the “Owed” column to stay proactive about consultant payments and cash flow before the end of each billing cycle.
