Have you added Consultant Fees and now you're ready to invoice? Before previewing your invoice and marking it as open, let's go through each display option and how they appear when selected.

Within the invoice template, navigate to the "Consultant Display" section:

Grouped in section with project consultants

With this option selected, the consultant fees will be grouped in a separate section of the invoice titled "Consultant Services". This would include any project and phase consultants β€” if a consultant is associated with a phase, the phase name would be shown beneath the consultant's name.

Itemized by Phase

By selecting "itemized by phase," any consultant fees associated with that phase would be shown as a line item beneath the phase.

As shown above, the Surveyor consultant, associated with the Permitting phase, is shown as a line item for that phase. Depending on whether the phase is hourly or fixed, the consultant would be listed in a different sub-section. In this example, since Permitting is an hourly phase, it is displayed under the Hourly Services section of the invoice.

Note: Since the Geotechnical Engineer consultant is only a project consultant, not a phase consultant, it appears in its own Consultant Services section despite the "itemized by phase" option being selected.

Hidden in Fixed phase fees

Selecting this option would hide any consultant fees associated only with the project's fixed-fee phases.

In the example above, there is a phase consultant associated with Design Development; however, with this option selected, we don't see the consultant type listed. Instead, it is grouped within the Design Development line item to display the current due date for this phase.

Note: Only Phase Consultants may be hidden in the Fixed Fee Phases, not Project Consultants.

🚨 Any existing projects that included Consultants prior to December 5, 2022, will appear as Project Consultants. We do not recommend adjusting these; instead, we recommend adopting Phase Consultants only for new projects going forward.
