Monograph Payments - Information Requirements

This article is to outline the common pieces of information that are requested by Stripe in order to maintain a compliant Payments account.

As part of our desire to offer you a seamless Payment processing service, Monograph works with Stripe to collect & maintain the right level of information on your business to abide by payments regulations. The requirements themselves are frequently updated by Stripe, financial service regulators, card networks, and other financial institutions, so as changes occur we want to make sure your are able to stay up to date and compliant.

How Do I Update My Information?

You can add additional information to your Stripe account by navigating to Settings > Organization and opening your Stripe Dashboard. Once there, select the Profile Icon in the top right corner of Stripe, and scroll down to the Management & Ownership section.

If additional information was requested, but you do not see a dialogue box on your Stripe Dashboard to provide more information, you will need to navigate to your Stripe Account Profile (via the profile icon in the upper right corner).

From your Profile, you will see a variety of sections detailing business information, personal information, management and ownership information, or tax information. Additional information can be provided via these sections.


What Information Am I Required to Provide?

Verification requirements can differ based on:

  • The country in which you operate

  • The business type (for example, individual or company)

  • The company structure (public company, private partnership)

The following is an illustration of the minimum information requirements for accounts. The list may not be exhaustive or fully up to date as the requirements can change periodically. It intends to serve as a guideline of information to prepare when completing your Monograph Stripe Account onboarding.

Company Accounts

This is information that will pertain to accounts that are single member LLCs, multi member LLCs, private partnerships, private corporations, unincorporated associations, or public entities.

Account Information:

  • Statement Descriptors

  • Business URLs

Company Information:

  • Company Name

  • Company Address (Must be a U.S. address. PO Boxes are not allowed.)

  • Company Phone / Email (Must be a U.S. phone number.)

  • Company Tax Information

Company Representative (the individual responsible for entering information into Monograph and enabling the Stripe connection):

  • Representative Name

  • Representative Date of Birth

  • Representative Address (Must be a U.S. address. PO Boxes are not allowed.)

  • Representative Phone / Email (Must be a U.S. phone number.)

  • Representative Tax Information / Last 4 Digits of Social Security Number*

  • Representative Job Title

Owner (the individual who owns the company):

  • Owner Name

  • Owner's Last 4 Digits of Social Security Number*

  • Owner Phone / Email

  • Owner Address

*Note: The standard connection process only requires the last 4 digits of the Social Security Number. However, in some cases, additional verification may be needed, and you may be prompted to provide the full Social Security Number.

Individual Accounts

Account Information:

  • Statement Descriptors

  • Business URLs

Individual Information:

  • Owner Name

  • Owner Date of Birth

  • Owner Address / Phone / Email

  • Tax Information (SSN)
