Your Payroll Subscription
Why is the payroll product being discontinued?
At Monograph, we’re committed to building tools that empower your firm’s success. After careful consideration, we’ve decided to sunset our payroll product, as it no longer meets our high standards. By retiring payroll, we’re making space for more impactful enhancements while exploring how we can better support your needs in the future.
When is the last day I can use the payroll product?
The payroll product will officially be discontinued on December 31, 2025. This means you'll be able to use Monograph Payroll through the end of the year. However, we encourage firms to not wait till the end to switch providers.
What happens if I do nothing?
If you do not transition before December 31, 2025, payroll services will automatically be disabled. We strongly encourage customers to migrate early to avoid service disruptions.
Transitioning to a New Provider
What are the benefits of switching early?
When possible, migrating before the end of the quarter (March 31, June 30, September 30) could bring some advantages for your business rather than waiting till December 31, 2025, for example:
Less work for tax filings, as your new provider will have the option to handle everything for the full quarter.
Fewer disruptions to payroll processing and compliance later in the year.
Access to new year promotions and migration incentives, such as dedicated support and potential credits from other providers.
How do I move to a new payroll provider?
Your new payroll provider will provide guidance for switching over but generally these are the recommended steps:
Choose a new payroll provider – We recommend exploring a solution such as Gusto or Quickbooks Online. Often times during the start of the year they offer promotions for new customers.
Export your payroll data – This includes employee records, tax filings, and pay history. Available under your payroll report and company overview sections.
Process your final payroll run – Ensure your last payroll is completed successfully. Let us know when you'll be doing this for a final confirmation.
Update your tax information – Verify that your new provider will handle filings.
Notify employees – Communicate any changes in direct deposit timing or tax forms.
Will you provide support for transitioning to a new payroll provider?
Once you've selected your new provider, our team will assist you with gathering any necessary information to support a smooth transition. You'll just need to reach out to Payroll Support with the required information, as well as any specific deadlines.
Can I get a list of recommended payroll providers?
We recommend exploring a solution such as Gusto or QuickBooks Online.
Will Monograph integrate with my new payroll provider?
No, Monograph will not integrate with your new payroll provider. However, the Payroll Report can be exported, and in most cases, imported into your new payroll provider.

Tax & Compliance
What happens to my payroll tax filings?
If you switch before the end of the quarter, your new provider will be able to handle the tax filings for that quarter, or Check can handle them if you won't be running another payroll in the quarter.
If the quarter ends and we aren't notified, Check will handle the quarter that ended.
*If you switch payroll providers after 12/31/25, Check will handle all Q4 and 2025 EOY Payroll-related taxes unless we are notified otherwise prior to 12/31/2025.
How can I access my historical payroll records after the sunset date?
We recommend exporting all payroll data before December 31, 2025. After that date, access will be limited, and retrieving past records may require additional steps.
Will my employees still receive W-2s/1099s?
Yes, your employees will receive the necessary paperwork for their tax filings.
If you stay with Monograph Payroll until 12/31/2025, we will issue final W-2s/1099s as usual by January 31, 2026.
The W2 will be issued to the employee's physical addresses to avoid any miscommunication for e-receipt.
I noticed a discrepancy with a past payroll. How should this be corrected?
If you notice any discrepancies with your 2025 payrolls or 2025 payroll taxes, reach out to our Payroll Support team to let us know. We will then work with Check's team to determine what next steps are needed.
🚨 When reporting a discrepancy, please include the following information:
