Files Hub

A centralized location for uploaded project documents in Monograph

Updated this week

Features Below Available To: ✅ Grow Plan ✅ Track Plan ❌ Free Plan

The Files Hub is your central place to upload, organize, and find files related to your projects. Instead of hunting through multiple projects, you can manage all your files in one view.

Accessing the Files Hub

From the left-hand menu in your Home page, select Files. This will open the Files Hub, where you’ll see all documents you’ve uploaded to projects in Monograph.

By default, files will appear in a grid view. If a more compact view is preferred, click on the list icon in the upper-left corner of the page to change to list view.

The search and filter bar makes it easy to narrow down results.

  • Search by name – type a keyword or part of the file name.

  • Filter by date – choose from “This week,” “Last 3 months,” “Last 12 months,” or a custom range.

    • By default, the date filter shows files since your subscription start date.

  • Filter by project – quickly jump to files tied to a specific project.

  • Filter by type – examples include proposals, contracts, design files, or invoices.

  • Filter by uploader – see who added the file.

Card Summaries

When viewing the Files Hub, each card shows the file name, project, type, and uploader. When available, hovering over a file shows a summary of its contents. This makes it faster to find the right document without opening it.

If no summary exists, the card will simply note “No summary is available for this file.”

Uploading Files

Files can be uploaded into the File Hub in two ways:

  1. Uploading files to a project's Notes

  2. Uploading files to a project's Details in the Files tab

While files cannot be uploaded directly to the File Hub, all files uploaded to projects will appear in the File Hub.

File Preview

In the File Hub, click on a file card to open the file's preview page. This makes it easy to quickly review the contents without needing to download the file. If no preview is available, you’ll see a placeholder and can download the file by clicking Download.

In addition to the file's preview, you'll find the Smart Summary and Details sections.

The Smart Summary provides a short, AI-generated summary of the file’s contents to help you quickly understand its contents. If a summary cannot be generated, it will state "Summary could not be generated for this file".

The Details section includes key information about the file, such as:

  • Project - the project the file is associated with

    • Click on the project name to open the project's Details page

  • Type - the type of file that was uploaded (e.g., proposal, invoice)

    • Click on the Type to edit the file type

  • Uploaded on - the date that the file was uploaded

  • File extension & size - the file's extension type and size

  • Uploaded by - the name and photo of the user who uploaded the file

Deleting a file

To delete a file in the file's Preview page, click on More in the upper-right corner and then select Delete. Files can also be deleted directly within the project's Notes or Files page.

When a file is deleted, a small pop-up will appear in the bottom-left corner of the page to confirm that it was deleted. If it was deleted by mistake, click Undo in the pop-up to revert it.

FAQs

Why aren’t any files showing in the File Hub?

Files in the File Hub depend on the filters you’ve applied. If no files match your selected filters, nothing will appear.

If you believe a file should be visible but it’s not, please reach out to our Support team for assistance.

I accidentally deleted a file and didn't click 'Undo' to revert it in time. Can I still retrieve the file?

The 'Undo' button is the only way to revert a deleted file. If 'Undo' isn't selected, the deletion can't be reverted, and the file can't be retrieved.
