You can change the status of a project or individual phase to reflect the stage where it may be at any current point during its lifespan. Changing the status of a project and/or phase will adjust the way it is viewed in different areas of the app. For example, changing the status of a project or phase to Paused will make that phase unavailable to log time towards effective the following work week.
Please note: when a project or phase is paused or completed, the platform gives a grace period through the end of the week (Sunday 11:59 pm) so that the team can finish logging any hours that they may not have added yet.

To adjust the status of projects and phases, check out the steps below.
๐กChanging a project or phase status to anything other than "Active" will prevent it from being used in Timesheets beginning the following Monday. We give this grace period to allow team members to finish adding any hours necessary for that project or phase.
Changing a Project's Status
To change a project's Status, click Projects from the main menu, followed by selecting the specific project you would like to change a status for.
From the Project-specific Overview page, click Active in the upper-right corner. This is the status button and will update with the current status of your project as a whole. All newly created projects will default to the Active status.
Select the status you would like to place the current project under and then click Update.
๐จ Note: Non-Admin users will not see the "Proposed" option as an available status since this is only available to Admin users.
Available Statuses for a Project or Phase
Proposed
This status will allow the project to only be viewed by users with Admin-level permissions. In this status, time cannot be entered or logged into a project.
Proposed projects will appear with a dotted outline on the Gantt chart.
*Phases cannot be marked as Proposed - this status can only be used at the project level.
Active
This is the default status applied to any new project created. This will allow you to work with the project as needed and will be available to view in the dashboard.
Active phases and projects will appear with a solid outline and a lighter, transparent color on the Gantt chart.
Paused
This status will keep all current details on hold and freeze the project. When a project is Paused, you will not be able to enter time or expenses.
Paused phases and projects will appear with a hatched shading on the Gantt chart.
Canceled
This status will remove the project from the main Dashboard view. Time and expense tracking are disabled when a project or phase is marked as canceled.
Canceled phases and projects will appear completely shaded in gray on the Gantt chart.
Completed
This status will remove the project from the main Dashboard view. It will remain visible under the Projects Overview page. Time and expense tracking are disabled when a project or phase is marked as completed.
Completed phases and projects will appear as a solid, opaque color on the Gantt chart.
๐ก Statuses for projects are interchangeable and may be updated at any point during the project lifespan. For more detail on archiving or deleting a project see How to archive/delete a project?
Changing an Individual Phase's Status
Click Projects from the main menu, followed by selecting the specific project you would like to change a phase status for.
From the Project-Specific Overview page, click on your phase of choice, such as Schematic Design.
Now you will see specific details for this individual phase. From this screen you may click on "Active" on the upper-right corner to change the status of this individual phase.
Much like changing a project status, you can select from Active, Paused, Canceled, or Completed. Changing the status of a phase mid-way through its duration will also update the way the Gantt Chart is displayed for the remainder of the phase. Note that individual phases cannot be set to a "Proposed" status.
